At RKC Homes we are passionate about traditional architecture. It is a wonderfully simple yet stunning form of architecture which has been derived mainly out of craftmanship and tradition, the outcome of living and working practices handed down over gernerations, in some cases cultural and social changes during each working generation.

The fact that these are not static and can't be frozen and assigned to any particular timeframe also gives "traditional" architecture a wonderful natural organic quality.

 

From a 'simple palette of key building types such as cottages, farmhouses, steadings and country homes we produce a new scottish vernacular that is firmly traditional yet refreshingly contemporary and adds to the character of the places we build our homes.

 

In many rural areas the word 'character' is mentioned to discribe the sense of a place.  This term 'character' comes equally from its buildings and the landscape. Both of these key elements need to interact and compliment each other.  This is fundimental to any of our home designs we produce.
